Reston Runners Policy on Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism

Reston Runners has and will continue to strongly support our Club and RRCA values and policies of inclusion and non-discrimination.  However, in light of the shocking murders of George Floyd, our fellow runner Ahmaud Arbery, and too many others, we recognize that as Americans we have an opportunity and responsibility to become a more just society.  We accept the challenge, on behalf of all our club members, to state and to live these values.  In that spirit, the board today unanimously adopted the following statement.

Runners Marathon of Reston (RMR) Returns

The race is scheduled for April 10, 2022 at South Lakes High School.  Keep up to date of race weekend doings at the race home page.  Contact RMR if you have any questions.

Walk Course Markers Needed – We need volunteers to mark an occasional weekend walking course. Depending on the weather forecast, it can be done the day before or several days before. Contact Mary Brett at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or (202) 341-7949 to volunteer.  If you have a particular interest in marking a route(s) near your home, please indicate your preference(s).  Note:  It takes only a little over an hour to mark a course and we can provide the chalk.

Water Support is Back! – For the time being the Board of Directors will rotate water support duties on our Saturday run/walks and water/Gatorade on Sundays; but it will be at the start/finish only and club members will need to bring their own fluid containers as cups will not be provided. The board needs other club members to volunteer to share this service for yourselves and for fellow club members.  Without volunteers we won't be able to get back to mid-run water support on Sundays.  Please contact  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you can help.

YMCA Reopens– The YMCA has re-opened now that Northern Virginia has moved into phase 2. See the Reston YMCA  Website for information on activities offered, restrictions and making reservations.
